My background in street photography has influenced my approach to couples and family photography to be documentary and storytelling rather than full of cheesy, rigid poses. I specialize in creating genuine photography experiences and use fun prompts to draw out your genuine family or relationship dynamic during our time together. I work with minimal props in-home, in the outdoors, or in a rented studio space.

I’m not about the cookie-cutter, gendered, and stiff poses we see in traditional couples photography. Proposals are my all-time favorite thing to photograph. The joy, the surprise, the sentimentality… they are always so, so sweet and I’m almost always down to come along for the ride.
Here’s the thing: I am COMMITTED to helping you plan the most special proposal ever. From scouting out the best places to propose in Minnesota, to laying out sticks on the ground so you know where exactly to do it to get the best lighting and angle, and coming up with code words to be extra-sneaky… I don’t take my job as proposal assistant lightly. So if you’re thinking of proposing to your honey and want extra-special photos and a new friend to map out details with: I’m pretty much already working on my disguise.

Portrait experiences starting at 400
Let’s ditch the rigid, stuffy family portraits that look like everyone else’s and get straight to business: making art to hang on your walls. My family sessions with young kids are play-centric - I’m not one to force anyone (let alone a kiddo) to cheese at the camera for an hour. I take the time to get to know your family and your individual needs and dynamic so I can lead your session in a way that is fun and stress-free for everyone.
